WHO Offers Tamiflu to NK

The World Health Organization has approved the provision of antiviral drugs for North Korea to combat a possible outbreak of H1N1 influenza.

The international health agency told Radio Free Asia Friday that the drug provision is part of its program to offer two-point-four million doses of Tamiflu to 72 developing countries.

The Washington-based broadcaster said the offered amount is sufficient to tackle an emergency outbreak of the disease, should one occur in the communist country.

The report said the drugs were shipped from Switzerland, Dubai and the U.S. and are currently on their way to the North.
