The top diplomats of the U.S. and North Korea will attend the ASEAN Regional Forum slated for July in Thailand.

U.S. State Secretary Hillary Clinton may sit down with North Korean Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun for the first time since the new U.S. government took office and the North launched a long-range rocket in April.

A senior Thai Foreign Ministry official said Tuesday that both Clinton and Pak confirmed their participation in the regional security gathering.

He added that Thai Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya will soon visit North Korea to discuss preparations for the North Korean minister's visit.
