9 Korean Americans in NY Infected with H1N1

The South Korean Consulate General in New York has confirmed that nine Korean Americans have been infected with H1N1 influenza as of Thursday.

An official at the diplomatic mission added, however, that the infected Koreans are mostly elementary and middle school students that showed slight symptoms of the new flu. The official said most of the Koreans have recovered or are in recovery.

Meanwhile, Japan’s NHK said a Korean man in his 20s who landed in Japan’s Narita International Airport from Chicago on Thursday was found to be infected with the new influenza.
