Foreign Media Cover Roh’s Death

Leading international news outlets are covering the death of former President Roh Moo-hyun.

The Associated Press and AFP are reporting that the ex-president fell off a cliff while hiking and was later moved to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

CNN and BBC covered the issue in breaking news, including details from their correspondents in Seoul on the cause of Roh’s death and South Korean prosecutors’ investigation into a bribery scandal surrounding him.

Quoting South Korean news companies’ reports, Japan’s Kyodo News Agency and NHK said the former president died Saturday and had been undergoing a prosecution investigation for his presumed involvement in a bribery scandal.

China's state-run Xinhua News reported the death on its online edition at ten o’clock Saturday morning, Korean time.
