The Vietnamese government has expressed its condolences to the family of former president Roh Moo-hyun.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Dung conveyed Vietnam’s respects to Roh's family, the South Korean government and the people of South Korea.

He said Vietnam will remember the late Korean president's contributions to advancing bilateral ties and cooperation between the two nations.

The Korean embassy in Hanoi and the Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City both set up memorial altars on Monday and are receiving mourners.
