Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso paid his respects Tuesday to the late former South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun at a memorial altar set up at the South Korean Embassy in Tokyo.

Aso had met with the ex-South Korean president while serving as foreign minister during the premiership of Junichiro Koizumi.

Koizumi paid his respects to Roh at the embassy on Monday.
