Clinton Pays Respects to Roh in Washington

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton paid her respects to late former President Roh Moo-hyun on Friday (Korean time) by visiting a memorial altar set up at the South Korean Embassy in Washington.

After signing the funeral guest book, Clinton laid a wreath on the altar and offered a silent prayer. She then conveyed her condolences to Roh’s family and the Korean people on behalf of President Barack Obama and the American public, saying that the U.S. shares in Korea’s grief.

Clinton said President Roh's dedication to democracy and human rights will always be remembered. She added that the U.S. looks forward to continuing the legacy of a man who gave his all to the service of his country.
