Russian media say the new U.N. resolution on North Korea the world body is expected to adopt soon in response to the North’s test of a nuclear device on Monday is expected to ban imports and exports of all types of weaponry, not just weapons of mass destruction.

Quoting U.N. sources, Russian media said Friday that the new resolution is also expected to seek stronger measures on freezing assets of persons or entities involved in nuclear and missile programs.

Sources added that the U.N. Security Council is considering expanding its list of North Korean officials that will face travel bans and adding more companies to the U.N. blacklist of firms aiding Pyongyang's nuclear and missile programs.

Meanwhile, Russia’s Foreign Ministry reiterated that it has no plans to oppose stronger U.N. sanctions against the North in the wake of its second nuclear test and that the North must return to the six-way nuclear talks.
