'NK Detainee Sends Letter to Sister in US'

One of two U.S. journalists detained in North Korea has reportedly sent a letter to her sister.

In the letter dated May 15th, Laura Ling told her sister Lisa that she is trying to stay positive while she awaits her trial.

Lisa disclosed the letter on the social networking site "Facebook," quoting Laura as saying that she cried a lot in the beginning in the North Korean prison but has come to feel better gradually.

Laura Ling and Euna Kim, of San Francisco-based Current TV, were taken into custody by the North along its border with China on March 17th while they were shooting a documentary.

North Korea said it will try the two detained American journalists on June fourth.

Laura’s sister said her family has, up until now, refrained from commenting on the incident. She said that now, the family has decided to voice their opinions.

Lisa Ling plans to appear on CNN’s "Larry King Live" and NBC’s “Today Show” on June first.
