US Senators Seek to Put NK Back on Terror List

Eight U.S. Republican senators are seeking to put North Korea back on the U.S. list of terrorism.

In a letter sent to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the senators, including Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss, said the North has never stopped engaging in terrorist activities and called on Washington to once again designate the North as a terror-sponsoring nation.

The senators said the former Bush administration’s intentions in delisting the North have not yielded anticipated results, stressing the importance of restricting the North’s financial transactions.

In a separate move, Senator John McCain recommended the North be put back on the terrorism list in a bid to prohibit the North from exporting nuclear technology and materials.
