Unification Minister Hyun In-taek met with a visiting delegation from the U.S. on Thursday to discuss the North Korean nuclear issue.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed to closely cooperate to deal with issues related to North Korea.

The ministry did not elaborate on the details of the meeting, but it said the two sides had extensive and productive discussions on recent political developments on the Korean Peninsula.

Led by Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg, the U.S. delegation included U.S. special envoy on North Korea Stephen Bosworth and Treasury Undersecretary Stuart Levey.
