A U.S. delegation led by Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg wrapped up its three-day stay in South Korea on Friday.

The delegation, which is touring the member states of the six-way nuclear talks, is now on its way to China.

In Beijing, the group of high-level U.S. officials is expected to discuss with their Chinese counterparts North Korea’s recent nuclear test and preparations to launch another long-range missile. The officials are also likely to discuss ways to sanction the North for its recent provocations.

In particular, the U.S. delegation is expected to focus efforts on convincing China to play a key role in imposing sanctions on the North, as China’s cooperation would be essential for sanctions to yield expected results.
