US Closely Following N. Korean Ship

The U.S. ambassador to the United Nations says the U.S. is following closely a North Korean ship suspected of carrying illicit weapons.

Appearing on U.S. broadcaster CBS Monday, Ambassador Susan Rice said the U.S. is following the progress of the Kang Nam very closely.

She said that when the new U.N. Security Council resolution on North Korea is fully enforced, the very tough package of weapons and financial sanctions will have an impact on Pyongyang.

Rice did not elaborate on how the U.S. might engage the North Korean ship, which Washington suspects is possibly sailing to Myanmar.
