US Delegation to Visit China on NK Sanctions

The U.S. State Department says a delegation will soon visit China to discuss sanctions against North Korea in line with U.N. Security Council Resolution 1874.

In a daily press briefing Monday, department spokesman Ian Kelly said former Ambassador to Bolivia Philip S. Goldberg has been appointed coordinator to help implement the U.N. resolution, which calls for sanctions against Pyongyang as a punishment for its May 25th nuclear test.

Kelly said Goldberg will lead a delegation of National Security Council, Treasury and Defense Department officials, whose first visit will be to Beijing.
