CNN: 52% of Americans See NK as Serious Threat to US

A new survey finds that the American people regard North Korea as a bigger threat than Iran or China.

According to the survey conducted by CNN and the Opinion Research Corporation on one-thousand-26 Americans, 52 percent of respondents said they think the North poses “a very serious threat” to the U.S.

Forty-three percent of those surveyed described Iran as a very serious threat to the U.S. while 20 percent picked China and eleven percent Russia.

In particular, more than nine in ten surveyed said Washington should take military measures in the event Pyongyang tries to strike the U.S. with a missile.

The phone survey was conducted June 26th to the 28th, prior to the North’s most recent missile launches. The poll’s sampling error is plus or minus three percentage points.
