Russia has reiterated that it will continue efforts to persuade North Korea to return to the six-party nuclear talks.
Russia’s top nuclear negotiator, Alexei Borodavkin, told reporters that Moscow is maintaining regular contact with Pyongyang through the two countries’ embassies.
Borodavkin went on to say that he held consultations with his counterparts in South Korea, the United States and Japan to resolve the current deadlock and resume the talks.
On Saturday, he will discuss the matter at a meeting with China’s Deputy Foreign Minister Wu Dawei, who will visit Moscow as part of a four nation tour.
North Korea withdrew from the multilateral talks in protest of actions taken by the United Nations Security Council after Pyongyang's rocket launch in April.
