South Korean and Japanese small business leaders agreed Friday to establish infrastructure for cooperation in the private sector.

The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) met in Tokyo where they discussed cooperative relations including joint ventures in the Asian region.

KCCI Chairman Sohn Kyung-shik said the two sides should pool their strengths to cooperate on new technologies and advance together into third country markets.

Friday’s meeting was a follow-up measure to the Korea-Japan summit talks in April. The last such meeting between the two countries’ small business leaders was held in 2003.
