The Japanese government is denouncing North Korea’s latest missile launch as a serious act of provocation against the security of neighboring countries and a violation of a U.N. Security Council resolution.
North Korea test-fired four missiles off its eastern coast on Saturday morning after launching four short-range missiles on Thursday.
Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Takeo Kawamura issued the statement Saturday saying the Japanese government will closely cooperate with South Korea, the United States and the international community to come up with specific measures to deal with Pyongyang’s actions.
The statement demands North Korea immediately and thoroughly implement the U.N. Security Council resolution that bans the nation from all activities related to the development of intercontinental ballistic missiles.
Meanwhile, Tokyo called for specific actions from Pyongyang to resolve the North Korean nuclear program and the Japanese abductees issue.
