The White House has yet to respond to North Korea's launch of seven missiles Saturday timed with U.S. Independence Day.

In an Independence Day radio speech, President Barack Obama did not mention the launches.

In an Associated Press interview later, he only commented on Iran's nuclear program.

Observers says Washington believes even the expression of concern on the provocation can appear as responding to the North's effort to attract attention.
