Clinton: NK Not a Threat to US

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says North Korea poses no threat to the United States.

In an interview with ABC News during her trip to India, she said the North's recent provocations, including nuclear tests and missile launches, are mere attempts at getting increased attention from the international community.

She then likened U.S. dealings with the North to the experiences she had while raising children. She added that the U.S. is neglecting to give attention to North Korea because Pyongyang doesn’t deserve it.

Clinton said that although it remains to be seen whether the North will decide to launch another long-range missile, the threat the communist nation poses to the U.S. is minimal.

She also acknowledged that the Obama administration has shifted its approach toward North Korea by not responding to its provocations.

Asked about the potential release of two American female journalists detained in the North, she said she remains hopeful.
