Korea's Jeju Island has been included on a list of candidates from which the seven new natural wonders of the world will be selected.

The Swiss-Based New7Wonders Foundation’s 28 finalists include the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, Ecuador's Galápagos Islands, the Amazon rain forest, the Grand Canyon in the U.S. and Matterhorn, the highest mountain in Switzerland.

Votes can be made over the telephone or online. The final seven will be announced in 2011.
