Clinton: NK Nukes Could Lead to Regional Arms Race

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says she has been amazed by the international community’s expressed willingness to actively enforce sanctions against North Korea.

In an interview with BBC, Clinton also expressed concerns about the possibility of other countries attempting to become a nuclear power, just as North Korea has done.

She added that the North's possession of nuclear weapons could cause an arms race in the Northeast Asian region --- a race that, she says, could lead to political instability.

Due to this concern, Clinton said she hopes China will be willing to work together with the U.S. to halt the threats.
