US Marks Korean War Vets' Day

Government and public offices across the United States flew the American flag at half-staff on Monday to mark National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day.

Various events, including a memorial, were held in Washington to mark the 56th anniversary of the signing of the Korean War armistice.

On Sunday, President Barack Obama declared July 27th as National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day in memory of the 50-thousand fallen U.S. soldiers who fought during the three-year war.

Earlier last week, the House of Representatives unanimously passed a bill to have July 27th marked with flags flying at half-staff.
