White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs says the best way to change the relationship between the U.S. and North Korea would be for the North Koreans to live up to the responsibilities and agreements they themselves entered into.

He was responding to a question on whether Pyongyang’s release of two American journalists Wednesday changed in any way the U.S. relationship with North Korea.

He reiterated that the U.S. views the two issues separately and that the ultimate goal is a denuclearized Korean Peninsula.
