'Korea's Internet Fastest in World'

A U.S. media union survey finds South Korea has the fastest Internet connections in the world.

The Communications Workers of America, the largest communications and media union in the U.S., released a report saying the average Internet download speed is 20-point-four megabits per second in Korea, the highest in the world.

Trailing Korea on the list were Japan, Sweden and the Netherlands. The U.S. ranked 28th at five megabits per second.

The CWA says Korea’s average Internet speed is four times faster than that of the U.S. and that it will take 15 years for the U.S. to catch up in terms of broadband bandwidth.
