WorldSkills Championship Kicks off in Calgary

The 40th WorldSkills Championship opened Wednesday morning (Korea time) at Stampede Park in Calgary, Canada, for a six-day competition.

Twenty-thousand athletes, judges and volunteers attended the opening ceremony, which featured singing and dance performances.

Nearly one-thousand athletes from 47 nations are participating.

Forty-five Koreans will compete in 40 events, including polymechanics, as they aim for their 16th tournament title.
