G20 Backs Further Stimulus, IMF Reform

The finance ministers of the world's top 20 economies agree that withdrawing stimulus measures introduced at the onset of the global financial crisis is premature.

The ministers and central bank chiefs held a Group of 20 meeting in London. British Finance Minister Alistair Darling said they were nearing agreements on six agenda items.

Korean Finance Minister Yoon Jeung-hyun took the stage as the third speaker. He urged active talks and preparation on an exit strategy and global cooperation in case of implementation, to which the participants agreed.

The ministers also reportedly agreed on expanding the voices of newly emerging economies through reform of the International Monetary Fund.
