Russian FM Urges NK to Return to Nuke Talks

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has urged North Korea to swiftly return to the six-way nuclear talks.

Lavrov told reporters in Moscow on Tuesday that all members of the nuclear talks, except the North, are hoping to resume negotiations, citing that such hopes were voiced in a U.N. Security Council resolution.

Lavrov warned that Pyongyang would have no place in the international community if it continues to pursue isolation and aggressive policies.

Russia strongly criticized Pyongyang for rejecting the six-way nuclear talks in the wake of a North Korean rocket launch earlier in the year. Russia also supports a U.N. resolution sanctioning the North for conducting a second nuclear test in May.
