The construction of the nation’s business pavilion at the Shanghai Expo grounds has officially begun.

The ground breaking ceremony on Friday was attended by Economy Minister Lee Youn-ho and some 250 Korean and Chinese guests.

Kumho Asiana, Doosan, Lotte, Samsung Electronics and eight other South Korean business groups will invest in building the structure on the three-thousand square meter plot of land.

The three-story building will house state-of-the-art, eco-friendly products and technologies of South Korean companies, under the theme of “Green City, Green Life” during the expo.

The Korea International Trade Association expects some six million people will visit the pavilion during the 2010 Shanghai Expo from May to October.
