'US Won't Send Food to NK to Win Concessions'

The Washington Post says U.S. President Barack Obama will not offer food aid to North Korea as a way of bringing the communist country back to the six-party nuclear talks.

The newspaper quoted a senior official from the U.S. administration as saying that the U.S. has no plan to win concessions from the Kim Jong-il government by sending food.

The paper noted that U.S. presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush traded food for talks with North Korea at least 13 times.

Washington's food aid for the North was suspended since March after the North began refusing aid shipments from the U.S.
