Japanese Gov't Denies Report on Hatoyama Visit to N.Korea

The Japanese government has denied a recent report that its Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama may visit North Korea.

A Japanese news outlet, Jiji.com, cited Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirofumi Hirano as saying he knew nothing of such a plan.

On Wednesday, Japan’s Asahi Weekly reported Hatoyama was considering a visit to the communist state next month to resolve the Japanese abductees issue.
