China has expressed support for a U.S.-North Korea dialogue set for next month when the U.S. special representative for North Korea policy, Stephen Bosworth, visits Pyongyang.

China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said at a regular briefing on Thursday that the Chinese government has special interest in Bosworth’s visit to the North.

Qin said all efforts by the concerned parties are within the framework of the six-party nuclear talks.

The spokesman said Beijing will consult the other parties to set a date to resume the long-stalled talks.
