Japanese police say they have arrested two Japanese nationals for exporting clothes to North Korea.

Japan’s National Police Agency said Tuesday that it arrested two people, including a 62-year-old trader from Kobe, for violating foreign transaction laws.

The two arrested people allegedly smuggled over 80 million won worth of clothes and shoes to North Korea in August through China. That's around 69-thousand U.S. dollars.

Japan has had in place a complete ban on exports to North Korea since June after Pyongyang conducted a nuclear test.
