Seoul Supports New U.S.-Afghanistan Strategy

South Korea has welcomed the U.S. government's decision to send more troops to Afghanistan.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman said Wednesday that the Seoul government hopes that the Obama administration's move will make significant contributions to the efforts of the Afghan people and the international community for the rebuilding of the war-torn country.

U.S. President Obama announced Tuesday that his government will send an additional 30-thousand troops in order to accelerate the stabilization and reconstruction of Afghanistan.
