'NK Uranium to be on Agenda for Nuke Talks'

U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Policy Stephen Bosworth says North Korea has agreed to include discussions of its uranium enrichment program on the agenda of the six-way nuclear talks.

Bosworth told reporters at the State Department Thursday that the issue of uranium enrichment will indeed be on the agenda when the six-nation talks resume.

Bosworth said that although he and North Korean officials did not discuss the possibility of holding a second meeting, he would not rule it out.

He also stressed that the issues of a peace treaty and an easing of sanctions against the North will be discussed after the six-way talks resume and once progress is made in Pyongyang’s denuclearization efforts.

Bosworth added that China, as the chair of the nuclear talks, is going to coordinate views of the members of the multilateral dialogue in the coming weeks.
