4th Most Adoptees to US are From Korea

Koreans were fourth on the list of international adoptions made by Americans in terms of the number of adoptees.

One thousand-77 Korean children were adopted by parents in the U.S. this year, up from last year's one-thousand-65.

Three-thousand Chinese children found homes in America, followed by 22-hundred Ethiopians and 18-hundred Russian children.

The overall number of foreign children adopted by the U.S. this year fell by a quarter of what it was last year. Washington believes this is because Chinese and Russian authorities are decreasing the number of healthy orphans that are put up for adoption.
