The Chinese Foreign Ministry is denying rumors that North Korean leader Kim Jong-il is planning to visit China.

When asked to confirm related reports during a Friday briefing, a spokesman from the ministry said he was in no way aware of any such information.

The rumors began after a top North Korean official charged with Kim's security was found to have visited China in October.
