WHO to Provide NK with H1N1 Vaccines

The World Health Organization (WHO) is reportedly planning to provide North Korea with H1N1 influenza vaccines within this month.

Radio Free Asia out of the U.S. said Friday that the organization will offer the North H1N1 flu vaccines for some 475-thousand people, adding that the vaccines were donated by nine countries, including the United States, France and Australia.

The report quoted the WHO’s regional office for Northeast Asia as saying that medical workers will be the first to be vaccinated.

If the first round of vaccinations proceeds smoothly, the WHO will provide the North with another round of vaccines for pregnant women and children under the age of five.
