UAE: S.Korea's Power Plants to Clean up Skies

The United Arab Emirates says the nuclear power plants that will be built in the nation by South Korea will help clean up the skies over the Arab nation.

According to a local newspaper, the Abu Dhabi government has forecast that the annual carbon dioxide emission levels will drop to 32 million tons by 2020 when a South Korea-led consortium will complete the construction of four nuclear power plants.

An environmental advisor in the Abu Dhabi government, Saad Al Numairy, said his country’s dependency on fossil fuel will decline following the construction of the nuclear power plants, which will ultimately contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
