S.Korea Tops UN E-Gov't Rankings

South Korea has topped the United Nations rankings of the world’s most effective e-governments.

The Ministry of Public Administration and Security said Thursday that the nation has for the first time taken the top spot in the U.N. e-government readiness report 2010.

Since 2002, the U.N. has issued the report every other year to compare and evaluate the e-governments of its member countries.

The United States, which topped the list in 2005, ranked second on the list, followed by Canada, Britain, New Zealand and Norway.
