Religious Groups Offer Aid to Haiti

South Korean religious groups are pledging aid to Haiti in the wake of a massive earthquake that has brought the capital city of Port-au-Prince to its knees.

The Jogye Order of Korean Buddhists said on Friday that they are praying for victims and have pledged 50-thousand dollars in aid.

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Seoul issued a message of condolence to the Haitian people Thursday in the name of Cardinal Nicholas Cheong Jin-suk. They have also offered 50-thousand dollars in aid.

The General Assembly of Presbyterian Church will provide relief aid of some 30-thousand dollars and is forming a volunteer team that will be sent to Haiti.
