President to Expand Korea-India Relations to Diplomacy and Security

President Lee Myung-bak plans to use his three-day state visit to India on January 24-27 to expand Korea-India's economic relations to include diplomacy and security matters.

Talks will range from economic collaboration to regional and global issues.

The presidential office said Lee plans to hold strategic dialogue on politics and security as well as for economic collaboration.

He will reiterate a need step up international cooperation through means such as the G20, East Asia Summit, and the ASEAN Regional Forum.

The president also plans to visit Korean companies in India to encourage them.

He will also discuss follow-up measures to facilitate a smooth implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, which took effect from January 2010.
