A British daily is reporting that Asia is host to many of the most beautiful airports in the world.

The Independent quoted the January edition of U.S.-based Travel and Leisure Magazine as saying that five of the 13 most beautiful airports are in Asia. The magazine said three of the 13 are in Europe, two are in the U.S., two are in South America and one is in Africa.

The daily said South Korea's Incheon International Airport, winner of the SkyTrax Best Airport Award 2009, was included among the five Asian airports, as was Beijing International, which has a three-point-two-kilometer-long dragon-shaped terminal that cost three-and-a-half billion dollars to build.

Hong Kong International Airport was praised for its "billowing roofs," and Kansai International Airport at Osaka was described as a "thing of wonder.”
