A survey finds that Korean is the third most popular foreign language that Japanese people want to learn.

According to a recent poll by Japan's Asahi Shimbun daily, 71 percent of some four-thousand respondents said they want to learn English the most.

About 23 percent picked Korean, while 43 percent selected Chinese. The survey allowed the respondents to select multiple languages.

Those who picked Korean language said that they want to learn the language because they enjoy watching Korean soap operas.
