'Korean Air Bomber Admitted Meeting with Japanese Abductee'

A former North Korean agent who bombed a Korean Airliner in 1987 has reportedly testified that she once met with Megumi Yokota, a Japanese citizen believed to have been abducted by North Korea.

Japan's Kyodo News says Kim Hyun-hee made the testimony to Japan’s foreign ministry and police officials during their visit to South Korea in May of last year.

The testimony was made public by a Tokyo official in charge of the abductees issue during a parliamentary meeting held Wednesday.

Kim has never said publicly to date that she personally met with Yokota.

The Japanese official announced plans to invite Kim to Japan at the request of Megumi's family in hopes of finding out more information about their abducted daughter.
