FAO: 2% of S.Korean Landowners are Women

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations says less than two percent of all landowners in South Korea are women.

The statistic is according to a recent Gender and Land Rights Database report compiled by the organization.

The report also shows that while women’s ownership ratio of land in South Korea stands at less than two percent, women contribute to half of the nation’s agricultural production.

According to the FAO, 32 percent of landowners in Germany and 19 percent in the U.K. are women.
