Diplomatic Means Set to Resume Nuke Talks

A flurry of diplomacy is expected to occur next month with a goal of resuming the stalled six-party talks on denuclearizing North Korea.

China's top nuclear envoy Wu Dawei will reportedly visit the U.S. and other members of the six-party nuclear talks in mid-March.

A diplomatic source in Beijing said Monday that during their talks in Beijing earlier this month, North Korea and China discussed a possible visit to the U.S. in early March by North Korea’s Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye-kwan.

U.S. special representative for North Korea policy Stephen Bosworth is reportedly considering visiting China next month with U.S. chief envoy to the six-party talks Sung Kim.

The top nuclear negotiators from South Korea and Japan are also likely to fly to Beijing around that time.

Beijing, as chair of the six-way talks, is expected to announce the results of its recent talks with North Korea to other nations participating in the six-way dialogue.
