Bosworth to Visit Bejing, Seoul, Tokyo

U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Policy Stephen Bosworth will visit Beijing, Seoul and Tokyo this week to discuss ways to coordinate policies on North Korea.

In a Monday (EST) briefing, State Department spokesman Philip Crowley said Bosworth and the U.S. chief delegate to the six-way talks Sung Kim will leave Washington Tuesday (EST) for the trip to Asia.

Crowley said, however, that the two have no plans to visit North Korea or Russia or to meet with Pyongyang officials while in Beijing.

While in China, the U.S. delegation is expected to be briefed on recent talks between senior Chinese Communist Party official Wang Jiarui and North Korean nuclear envoy Kim Kye-kwan.
