Resolution Urging FTA Ratification Submitted to House of Rep.

A resolution urging the swift ratification of free trade pacts with South Korea, Panama and Colombia has been submitted to the U.S. House of Representatives.

The resolution, jointly issued by two Republican lawmakers, expressed strong support for President Barack Obama’s State of the Union speech in which the U.S. president vowed to strengthen trade relations with the three countries.

The resolution said that if the U.S. sits on the sidelines while other nations sign trade deals, it could lose the chance of clinching trade pacts with the three countries.

The resolution was submitted on February 26th and has been referred to the House Committee on Financial Services.
