Russian Police: No Suspect Arrested in Stabbing of Korean

Moscow police investigating Sunday’s stabbing of a South Korean student in the Russian capital say no arrest has been made in connection with the attack.

The vice chief of the Moscow Police Department met with Consulate General Sin Seong-won of the South Korean Embassy in Russia on Wednesday and told him that the police have yet to make an arrest.

The vice chief said police have a sketch of the suspect and are in the process of tracking him down.

However, Russian Ambassador to South Korea Konstantin Vnukov told the Seoul government Wednesday that the suspect who allegedly attacked the Korean student had been arrested.

The consulate general later clarified the confusion, saying Vnukov may have misunderstood the Russian Foreign Ministry's report on having found circumstantial evidence.
